EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
Women Development Association for Self Sustenance (WODASS) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-religious and non-political organization, founded in 1985 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2007. WODASS focuses on addressing women, youth and children development issues.
The engagement of WODASS in a Strategic Planning exercise is borne out of the recognition of the importance of continuous analyses and planning in achieving greater relevance and impact as an organization. This Strategic Plan was developed during a series of meetings, retreats and workshops held with the key stakeholders of WODASS between 2016 and 2017 at WODASS Office: No. 17 Tafawa Balewa Road, Opposite Low-Cost, Dass, Bauchi State.
The strategic planning exercise is part of the Organizational Development (OD) assistance to WODASS by the Leadership Empowerment Advocacy Development funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) to help leverage increased resources for high impact projects for sustainable development through effective and participatory Governance towards improving the live of citizens most especially women, children, adolescent and family.
Various participatory tools and methods were used to facilitate the detailed analyses and integration of the context and operating environment (internal and external), demands and requirements of target groups as well as the current goals and strategies of relevant governments, donors and other support institutions addressing women, youth and children development issues in WODASS coverage area.
The integration of the analyses provided the insights and foresights that gave rise to the development of the strategic focus and direction (i.e. vision, mission and goals) as well as the key operational areas and strategic objectives of WODASS for the period 2018-2022
